Zeitloses Exterieur

Die Außenhaut des Classic Defender Works V8 Islay Edition ist in Heritage Grey gehalten, das auf die Mid-Grey-Lackierung des Originals aus der Serie IIa von Spencer Wilks verweist. Kontraste dazu bilden das in Limestone lackierte Dach und die gleichfarbigen Schwerlast-Stahlfelgen. Die Lackierung in Heritage Grey erstreckt sich auch auf die Radkästen, was die Hochwertigkeit des Exterieurs unterstreicht.

Die Holzscheiben sind in die Schalen eingefügt, die mit Holzdekoren aus American Walnut verkleidet wurden, hochwertig zusammengefügt mit formschönen Schwalbenschwanzverbindungen. Die ebenso hochwertig gearbeitete Einfassung zeigt im gestanzten Schrifttyp Kilchoman Distillery und Wollen Mill – außerdem das offizielle Logo zum 75-jährigen Jubiläum von Land Rover. Schließlich ist der Boden der Getränkehalter ebenfalls aus dem Holz von Whiskyfässern geschnitten.

Die Kilchoman Distillery besitzt eine familiäre Verbindung zu Spencer Wilks. Dessen Urenkelin Kathy Wilks hat 2005 mit ihrem Mann Anthony die Brennerei gegründet. In die aus den Baujahren 2012 bis 2016 stammenden Defender implantiert Land Rover Classic einen modernen 5.0 Liter V8-Saugmotor-Benziner mit 298 kW (405 PS) Leistung und einem Drehmomentmaximum von 515 Nm. Diese Kraft wird mithilfe einer ZF-Achtgangautomatik an die vier Räder übertragen.
